Part of the Beswick Community Hub, MIHP is a Joint Venture between its funding partners Manchester City Council, Manchester City Football Club and Sport England. The building combines the best in diagnostic health care with elite sporting performance training and rehabilitation, all under one roof. Built in 2015 to be operated by the world’s leading private Health Care Provider Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), the building serves both the elite and local communities.
The project was on an extremely tight programme, needing to complete 6 months before Rio 2016 so that athletes could make use of the facilities for preparations. The client team worked closely with the contractor to ensure resourcing, materials and site logistics were prioritised within the wider programme.
